During one dive off The Marine Room, we saw two giant sea bass. The first was a 4 cm juvenile that was in 20 feet of water, over the sand. The adult was large (say 200+ lbs) and was found in 30 feet of water, along the edge of the La Jolla Canyon. I have longer video footage if you need it.
